About
Liberty Hydrologic Systems is a services company created for the specific purpose of addressing various groundwater treatment related issues. Liberty utilizes its intellectual property related to the development of cost effective techniques to remove selenium from water. Liberty will apply its proprietary technology along with well established industrial water treatment techniques and unit operations to develop commercially viable removal systems.
Liberty began when Patriot Coal contracted the Mid-Atlantic Technology and Research Innovation Center (MATRIC) to complete a technological review of their efforts. After reviewing the technologies Patriot Coal had attempted, MATRIC believed it had an improved technology which could remove Selenium from groundwater sources.
Under a field-of-use licensing agreement utilizing this new MATRIC technology, Liberty Hydrologic Systems was born.
While ZVI chemistry is well-established, Liberty’s technology uses sound chemical engineering principals to differentiate it from other ZVI technologies on the market. With improvements in mass transfer and reaction kinetics, Liberty’s ZVI technology requires significantly less resonance time to remove selenium impurities. With this decreased resonance time, the footprint of the unit is significantly smaller.
Two key factors in Liberty’s competitive market advantage are price and power. We provide you a power-free, gravity flow option that can meet your budget constraints.
